Note that contractor licences issued to a business are not acceptable here, the name of the individual carrying out the electrical work must appear on evidence submitted. Under the East Coast Electrician's scheme, electricians from Queensland (unrestricted electrical mechanic), Victoria (electrician licence) and the ACT (unrestricted electrician licence) can automatically work in NSW without having to notify the regulator. Therefore, electrician licences issued by Queensland, Victoria or the ACT regulator can be accepted to meet the requirement of this competency, given they: Mention the name of the worker and the name on licence matches the person registered (shortened version of first name are acceptable), AND They meet the business rules for the licence of the state that has issued the licence.

In Victoria, licensed electricians from other State do not need to receive a Victorian licence but they must notify Victoria EnergySafe to be 'deemed registered'. Notification of approval / registration from Victoria EnergySafe is an acceptable evidence, given it: Mentions the name of the worker and the name on licence matches the person registered (shortened version of first name are acceptable), AND Is for Electrician or Electrical Inspector category/class (other restricted or supervised worker are NOT acceptable) Is current - expiry date of the registration is not past.
