  • If blasting activities are to be performed by a worker and their licence is pending issue by SafeWork NSW, the worker can perform their duties if formal written approval is provided by the site Mining Manager. A copy of the explosives user licence application must be attached to the Mining Manager’s written approval OR the Mine Manager must sight the worker’s application or evidence of lodgement, and reference is made of this in their letter of approval.

  • NSW workers require a security clearance (SC) licence for unsupervised access to explosives or security sensitive dangerous substances (SSDS)
  • The licence is valid for 5 years
  • Worker must have a current National Police check certificate
  • If blasting activities are to be performed by a worker and their licence is pending issue by SafeWork NSW, the worker can perform their duties if formal written approval is provided by the site Mining Manager.
